Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram, started relief services to ease the sufferings of the underprivileged families in the Jhargram area from 23 March 2020, due to lockdown for the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Every day, on an average, 200 packets of food items are being distributed. The packets contain 3 kg rice, 1 kg dal, 2 kg potato, milk powder and biscuits.
Jhargram Ashrama also arranged a special awareness camp and training programme for the students on COVID-19, on 14 March 2020. The students were advised on the basic protective measures against the new coronavirus. Also they were taught on how to make face mask using tissue papers and rubber bands.
